Serve as web designer/developer for Web Team, in Creative Communication Services. Maintain primary responsibility for the look, layout, usability and visual consistency of the UVM website and all UVM website templates shared across the institution. Apply web design/graphic design knowledge in establishing and implementing a living web style guide across a wide range of digital properties. Utilize a mobile-first approach to design, and convert design layouts into annotated wireframes. Support internal clients looking to transition into UVM web content management system. Manage and edit photography assets for use on UVM websites. Provide consulting and guidance on User Interface (UI) across all web platforms to best serve user needs. Serve as main art director for the university web presence and as central contact for and foster a collaborative environment for campus constituents doing web/digital design work. Develop creative elements for social media campaigns, video, and other digital media efforts. Actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree and four years' industry experience required, including experience in art directing, marketing and branding initiatives on the web. Proficient with design and coding environments and ability to create designs taking usability and W3C accessibility compliance into account; website and theme development experience within a modern content management platform and ability to convert wireframes and designs into CSS/HTML5 themes (i.e. for Drupal). Demonstrates working knowledge of current best practice in web design/development, and ability to communicate these considerations. Able to prioritize tasks and manage to deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail. Able to work effectively in a team environment. Able to demonstrate ongoing commitment to workplace diversity, sustainability and delivering exceptional value and great customer service.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products
