Serves as Director of Student Life and the Dudley H. Davis Center providing leadership and direction for a comprehensive, campus-wide student life and college union program. Administers the planning, budgeting, and daily functioning of the Department of Student Life and the activities, functions, and policy development of the Dudley H. Davis Center, addresses a wide range of student life issues, serves as principal advisor to the Student Government Association and its recognized student organizations, and creates a supportive work environment on issues of diversity, social justice, inclusion, and in diversity programs, and, infuses UVM's "Our Common Ground" values into the culture, ethos and programming of Student Life and the Davis Center.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Master's degree in Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field with five to six years of post degree experience in student life and campus administration. Demonstrated ability to successfully work with diverse populations. Familiarity with higher education legal issues. Ability to assess campus climate and communicate same to campus. Administrative skills including financial management, supervision, and risk management. Ability to understand and articulate a philosophy of education based in experiential learning and co-curricular education. Ability to mediate conflict. Experience with the production of major campus programs and events. Demonstrated commitment to creating a supportive work environment on issues of diversity and participating in diversity programs.
