The Business Systems Team within the Department of Enterprise Application Services at the University of Vermont is seeking an experienced technical or business specialist to provide technical application analyst support for production business systems. The initial primary focus of this position is the support and maintenance of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, with specific responsibility for our PeopleSoft Financials system. This position will be responsible for ongoing operational production support; managing enhancements, upgrades and new implementations throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle; and assisting internal clients on a daily basis. This position will partner with other team members to design and support system security and role assignment.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in technology field and five years of experience in related field to include experience understanding software configuration and supporting large ERP systems required. Knowledge of relational databases and SQL. Business process analysis skills. Substantial experience analyzing and solving problems of diverse scope required. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in an environment with competing deadlines and unanticipated changes in requirements. Effective communication and interpersonal skills and experience communicating systems issues to non-technical staff.
Experience supporting PeopleSoft's Financials, EPM, and/or HCM systems highly desirable with experience in the security administrator roles for PeopleSoft, or the equivalent in other large ERP systems, desirable. Significant experience with using PeopleSoft's query manager desirable. Prior functional experience in finance or accounting is desirable. Experience making significant contributions to system implementation and enhancement/upgrade projects. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Effective analytical, consulting, and advisory skills. Experience developing and sustaining effective cross-functional working relationships.
A 6-month probationary period is required.
