The Department of Orthopedics at the University of Colorado in Aurora, Colorado is seeking an experienced board certified Non-operative Podiatrist. The University of Colorado is located on a new 2.5 billion dollar campus that combines state of the art medical facilities and basic science research. All candidates must have completed a 3-year residency, have an interest in developing a clinical practice and research endeavors, and participate in our resident/fellowship education program.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet.
  • Treat conditions such as corns, calluses, ingrown nails, tumors, shortened tendons, bunions, cysts, and abscesses.
  • Treat deformities using mechanical methods, such as whirlpool or paraffin baths, and electrical methods, such as short wave and low voltage currents.
  • Educate patients about the benefits of foot care
  • Perform administrative duties such as hiring employees, ordering supplies, and keeping records.
  • Advise patients about treatments and foot care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems.
  • Correct deformities by means of plaster casts and strapping.
  • Diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results.
  • Make and fit prosthetic appliances.



Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Podiatry Certification
  • All candidates must have completed a three year residency, be board certified, have an interest in developing a clinical practice and research endeavors, and participate in our resident/fellowship education program.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in developing a clinical practice
  • Have a strong interest in total joint research
  • Experience in an academic setting
