Visiting Asst Professor - Sociology
The Sociology Department at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor appointment to begin fall 2018. We are seeking a broadly trained sociologist with teaching experience in areas that meet the needs of our department (these areas might include, but are not limited to, Ethnographic Research and Research Methods).
A PhD in Sociology is required at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and a desire and ability to educate and mentor students. The appointment carries a 4/3 load. Courses will include one graduate seminar or one advanced undergraduate seminar in the candidate's area of expertise. This may also include one online course per semester based on the candidate's preference. The department is able to offer mentoring opportunities if desired. Salary ~ $55,000. Medical benefits are offered.
