Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Developmental Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a full-time, Advanced Practice Provider faculty member at the Instructor level. This position will be at our Children's Hospital Colorado main campus in Aurora, Colorado on the Anschutz Medical Campus. Applicants should be certified pediatric or family medicine nurse practitioners or physician assistants. Experience with children with developmental and behavioral problems is preferred although not required. We have a busy clinical practice, an ACGME accredited DBP fellowship program, and opportunities for collaborative and independent research. Applicants should have a strong commitment to education and clinical care. The applicant also is encouraged to have an area of scholarly interest.

Developmental Pediatrics is a clinical program is located primarily at Children's Hospital Colorado on the Anschutz Medical campus. We also provide clinical services at multiple Network of Care sites. We provide interdisciplinary developmental assessment and management of children and youth with a wide array of developmental and behavioral problems. We are one of ten sites for the DBP Training Grant funded by HRSA/MCHB, one of 14 DBPNet sites, and associated with a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program. We are part of the Neuroscience Institute at Children's Hospital Colorado, which also includes Child Neurology and Neurosurgery. We also work closely with Child Psychiatry, Genetics, Rehabilitation Medicine, and Special Care Clinic, with ample collaborative opportunities.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation from an APAP approved Physician Assistant Training Program and certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Prescriptive authority or ability to obtain before start date.
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with ability to obtain Prescriptive Authority in the State of Colorado. Will need to qualify for and obtain prescriptive authority within one year of beginning position.
  • APN licensure and Masters from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program,
  • Pediatric Nursing Certification Board certificate or other comparable certification required.

Condition of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex offender background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical experience working with children and youth with developmental and behavioral problems;
  • 2 years of clinical experience;
  • Experience in interdisciplinary developmental assessment teams.
