Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics Section of Genetics has an opening for a full-time Professor/Section Head. The University of Colorado, Department of Pediatrics is currently recruiting for a Section Head of Genetics. The incumbent will be responsible for financial oversight of the section, program administration and development, leadership oversight, and faculty recruitment and mentoring for career advancement. This incumbent will also be responsible for patient care program outcomes, metrics, safety and supervision, development and enhancement of a strong broad based clinical and research environment, will be expected to support and develop clinical education, advocacy and contribute to the success of the Department of Pediatrics and the Children's Hospital Colorado. Collaboration with Hospital and Department of Pediatrics leadership regarding strategic and operational development of the Section of Genetics will be an integral component of this role.

  • Oversight of the administrative, teaching, research and service activities of the Section.
  • Develop an outstanding reputation as a national leader in clinical care delivery, research, education and advocacy
  • Promote and develop a clinical service that is well organized, safe, has high quality and value, and maintains a high level of satisfaction for patients, families and referring physicians
  • Lead efforts in the Child Health aspects of Personalized Medicine

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Requirements
  • MD or Do
  • 7-10 years of progressive accomplishments

Condition of Employment:
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
