The Office of Inclusion and Outreach has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Pre-Health Program Coordinator position.

Jobs in this career family provide direct professional support for the teaching and/or educational service mission of the university. Functions include academic advising/counseling, student personnel administration, recruitment and admissions, registration, financial aid, faculty affairs, library services, curriculum administration, and others involving direct support of the educational mission of an academic unit.
Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.
At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.
The Pre-Health Program Coordinator is a key member of the Office of Inclusion and Outreach (OIO) and will assist in the development and implementation of office pipeline programs. Work includes promotion and recruitment efforts targeting K-12 and undergraduate students; especially populations from historically underrepresented and underserved groups in healthcare. In collaboration with office staff and Kaiser Permanente counterpart, the Coordinator will assist in the day to day operations of the Undergraduate Pre-health Program; including planning, implementing and coordination of the program, developing educational sessions/workshops focused successful entrance into professional/graduate programs (Saturday Academy classes and summer programming), and working with key on/off-campus personnel.

Conditions of Employment: Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends; reliable transportation required.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring range for this position has been established at $44,000 to $50,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation

- A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, communications, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- One year of professional level experience with academic support programs, community based programs or similar programs for diverse, low-income, and/or first-generation college students.
- A Master's Degree in Higher Education, Counseling Education, Student Affairs, or related field.
- Experience working in higher education, high school college prep, community based organizations or closely related professional setting.
- Experience with evaluation and data management
- Experience providing case management services and advising students with the college admissions and financial aid application process
- Proficiency in a second language (written and verbally); preferably Spanish.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Demonstrated ability in multitasking, prioritizing workloads, and working independently
- Ability to understand and apply student development models to success of students interested in the sciences and health professions.
