Description of Department:
The Department of Art and Art History (AAH) consists of two programs, in art history and in art practices. The art history program offers the B.A., the M.A degree, and, beginning in fall 2018, the Ph.D. The art practices program is divided into five areas that offer degree tracks for the BA, BFA, and MFA degrees: Ceramics, Integrated Media Arts Practices (IMAP), Painting & Drawing, Printmaking, and Sculpture & Post-Studio Practice. The department is committed to providing our students a depth of training in a specific field that equips them for interdisciplinary inquiry, whether in art history or in art practices. With respect to art history, the program approaches the discipline from a global perspective, considering a broad range of art making practices.

Overview of Job Duties:

The Department of Art & Art History at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks a tenure-track assistant professor in the history of Asian Art, to begin August 2018. Open to any Asian specialization from any historical period, including contemporary. Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses (two courses per semester), conduct an active research program, and provide service to the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in relevant field, including Art History, Asian Studies or Visual Studies
