Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Developmental Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants should be board certified in Pediatrics and board eligible or certified in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NDD). We have a busy clinical practice, an ACGME accredited DBP fellowship program, and opportunities for collaborative and independent research. Applicants should have a strong commitment to education and clinical care. The applicant also is encouraged to have an area of scholarly interest.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Maintain full time clinical effort (1.0 cFTE).
  • This includes provision of direct clinical care to children with a wide array of developmental and behavioral problems, and provision of psychopharmacological management of attention and other behavior problems.
  • Outpatient clinics will be a mix of interdisciplinary clinics and individual consultations and follow-up visits at Children's Hospital Colorado main campus if Aurora, Colorado and potentially Denver metro area Network of Care sites.


Developmental Pediatrics' clinical program is located primarily at Children's Hospital Colorado on the Anshutz Medical campus, as well as providing clinical services at multiple Network of Care sites. We provide interdisciplinary developmental assessment and management of children and youth with a wide array of developmental and behavioral problems. We are one of ten sites for the DBP Training Grant funded by HRSA/MCHB, one of 14 DBPNet sites, and associated with a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program. We are part of the Neuroscience Institute at Children's Hospital Colorado, which also includes Child Neurology and Neurosurgery. We also work closely with Child Psychiatry, Genetics, Rehabilitation Medicine, and Special Care Clinic, with ample collaborative opportunities.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD or DO
  • Board certified in Pediatrics
  • Board certified or board eligible in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities


Condition of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex offender background check

  • Preferred knowledge, skill and abilities include:
  • Ability to perform well as a team member, as well as function independently.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of interdisciplinary assessment and management of developmental and behavioral problems, and special health care needs, of children from infancy through adolescence.
  • He/she should be invested in the education and career development of others.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of accredited DBP or NDD training programs.
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary developmental assessment teams.
  • Ability to provide psychopharmacological management of attention and other behavioral problems.
