Degree and Area of Specialization:

Ph.D. required in Ph.D in Social Work or a related field by the start of the appointment. M.S.W. and professional social work practice experience are preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

An ability to teach in all program levels (i.e., undergraduate, master's, doctoral) is required. Prior teachng experience preferred. Applicants should show evidence for the ability to achieve excellence in a program of research in any area of specialization relevant to social work. Applicants should show evidence of the potential for or demonstrated excellence in teaching.

Position Summary:

The School of Social Work seeks candidates for an opening at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level. The successful candidate must be commited to excellence in scholarly research, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and outreach activities. Candidates will be expected to perform university, professional and university service as appropriate.

The School of Social Work is comprised of faculty and staff that work collaboratively to provide a high quality education and professional growth experiences for students. The School has several educational programs, and candidates will be expected to teach course in social work across the programs. We are committed to providing a strong generalist orientation for BSW and first year MSW students. Our aim with second year MSW students is to further advance their knowledge, skills and professional integrity in several areas of focus. We are committed to a very high-quality PhD program and a broad undergraduate major, both in social welfare.
