The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Neurology, has an opening for a full-time Assistant Professor to provide clinical care for patients with general neurological disorders at the CU Briargate Center in CO Springs, CO. The Briargate Center is a pediatric multispecialty CU School of Medicine clinic that includes faculty from multiple departments (currently Pediatrics, Surgery, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Physical Medicine & Rehab, and Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes). The position will include clinical, research, service and limited teaching. Clinical responsibilities include participation in the outpatient clinics. Competitive start-up packages including protected time for serious academic development and research will be provided. The Department of Pediatrics Section of Child Neurology is nationally recognized for providing outstanding consultation, clinical care, and surgery for children and adolescents with neurological disorders. USNWR ranked Child Neurology as one of the top 20 programs in the nation.
Examples of Work Performed
- Outpatient evaluation of children with Neurological Disorders
- Inpatient consults for NICU, PICU and floor patients
- Inpatient call coverage for consults and outpatient phone call coverage
- On-going follow-up care both in clinic and by phone, for neurology patients and referring primary care providers
- Collaboration of patient care with staff neurologists as appropriate
- Teaching clinical care concepts to NP's, PA's, Residents and RNs
- Possible outreach activities and consults
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Condition of Employment:
- Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
- Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to collaborate with a medical team to provide the highest quality of care to patients and their families
- Ability to diagnose and treat patients with neurological diagnoses
- Board Certified in Neurology with a Special Competence in Child Neurology
- Current DEA
- Background in treatment of pediatric patients with neurological disorders
