Assistant / Associate Professor Tenure Track

The University of Colorado, College of Nursing is seeking a tenured / tenure track faculty member with a demonstrated track record of funded research, data based publications, and podium presentations. Candidates who have completed a postdoctoral research fellowship are preferred. This full-time position also involves didactic and clinical teaching responsibilities Didactic courses are taught in the classroom, online, or in blended formats. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Research & Scholarship.

The University of Colorado Denver/AMC is a research-intensive university located on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado and within the Denver metropolitan area. The College of Nursing offers four degrees: BS, MS, DNP, and PhD. We are known for the advancement of nursing as the art and science of human caring and as the birthplace of the nurse practitioner role. We are located on a visionary health sciences campus with state of the art teaching, research, and practice facilities. Our clinical affiliates - Children's Hospital Colorado, University of Colorado Hospital, and Veterans Affairs Medical Center - are renowned leaders in practice and research with diverse clinical populations.

Brief Summary of Position Responsibilities:

  • Teaching effectiveness, leadership, and collegiality that contributes to the teaching mission of the College.

  • Disseminates results from program of scholarship.
  • Participation and accomplishments in institutional, professional, and community service.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • A PhD in Nursing or related field
  • Demonstrated program of funded research in the area of bio-behavioral
  • Track record of research dissemination through peer-reviewed data-based publications and presentations
  • Eligible for RN licensure in the State of Colorado

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
  • Academic teaching experience
  • Research experience with an Interdisciplinary team
  • Participation and accomplishments in institutional, professional, and community service.
