Degree and Area of Specialization:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology or related field required. Candidates with advanced degrees will also be considered.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum 1 year experience in a research lab. A strong background in molecular biology, microbiology, and/or biochemistry is required. Prior experience with bacterial genetics, bacterial pathogenesis, host-microbe interactions, and protein chemistry is highly desirable. Must be highly motivated with excellent time management skills; ability to organize and maintain accurate records; experience using EXCEL; strong attention to detail; and the ability to work in a team environment and laboratory setting.
License or certificate:
Our lab studies the molecular mechanisms of bacterial signaling and virulence. We take a multi-disciplinary approach involving bacterial physiology, protein chemistry, mass spectrometry, and immunology. The successful applicants will have research and management responsibilities in the lab.
This is a fixed-term terminal appointment with a guaranteed length of 12 months from date of hire (i.e., January 10, 2018-January 10, 2019). This appointment may be extended up to a maximum of 24 months as a fixed-term terminal appointment depending on satisfactory performance, business need, and funding.
