Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree with a major in computer/information sciences, natural sciences, engineering, or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred in aforementioned disciplines. An official or copy of an official, transcript will be required prior to an offer of employment. Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum three years supervising professional staff in a professional or academic setting.

Demonstrated personnel knowledge and/or leadership of staff that have experience in managing of large information systems consisting of complex and relational data. Experience in the operations of a laboratory regarding sample management/treatment, data, traceability, and quality assurance. Direct experience with information management of environmental monitoring data and working with environmental data sets and methods to ensure quality.

Demonstrated excellence in working as part of a team and with a wide variety of professional staff toward a common goal. The Data/Site Support Manager will work in a team management mode along with the Lab Manager and QA Manager to ensure that the mission of the CAL laboratory of timely production and reporting of extremely high quality environmental data is efficiently and effectively carried out.

Experience in the operations of a laboratory regarding flow of samples, data, traceability, and quality assurance. Experience in working with field personnel and understanding sampling logistics, and supply and receipt of the commensurate goods and supplies to ensure successful field monitoring. Preferred experience is in an environmental, chemistry, or biological lab.

Additional experience must include working with other professional colleagues, professional communications, and working in a safe working environment.

This position is a supervisory position and reports to the Director of the Environmental Health Division.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring that analytical data is properly managed and distributed after sample analysis. Manage and ensure that incoming and outgoing supplies are provided for NADP site operators. Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the applicable LIM system(s) needed to administer the NADP within the Central Analytical Lab. The employee in this position is expected to use the tools and principles of quality management in performing their daily work including the following: Demonstrate exceptional customer service by establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with other colleagues, supervisors, and all customers and partners. Provide constructive feedback for the purpose of continuous improvement in a manner that is supportive of the State Laboratory of Hygiene and its mission. Use effective team skills to contribute to the efficient operation of the work unit. Present ideas, carry out assignments, and provide information as required. Participate in continuous learning through professional development activities.

This position is a supervisory position and reports to the Director of the Environmental Health Division.

Knowledge of complex computer systems such as those used to manage laboratory data (Horizon, Epic, or other commercial or in-house built systems)
Knowledge of data processing algorithms and protocols including data file processing, stored procedures, and troubleshooting programs such as Microsoft products including Excel and/or statistical programs. Statistical algorithms such as those in standard use for data management means, medians, standard distributions, and relational dataset management.
Knowledge and experience in automated data management protocols and techniques.
Knowledge and experience in SOPs as they pertain to environmental analyses and commensurate data analysis
Knowledge of quality assurance as it applies to environmental analysis.
