Job description

Duties: The IT Support Specialist B provides local computing support for staff and student workers in the Division of Finance, Student Registration and Financial Services, EVP Office, Budget Office and Office of Investments. By installing, supporting, and maintaining a variety of technologies, finding and implementing solutions for end users, and serving as a technological consultant, the IT Support Specialist B helps these organizations make effective use of technology in all aspects of the university's research administration and financial administrative missions.

Qualifications: A BS and a minimum of 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience are required; experience supporting Windows 7, 8 and10, Mac OS X, MS Office suite and common networking and utility applications required; knowledge of Windows desktop system administration in an Active Directory environment preferred; familiarity with basic desktop hardware support and maintenance required; excellent customer service and spoken/written communication skills required; ability to work and communicate with users of varying levels of expertise required; organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks and projects and adapt to frequent change required; ability to work independently with limited direct supervision in a self-motivated and self-directed manner required; ability to work as a member of a team required.
