Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Teach North Texas Program at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a full time, 9-month lecturer position to serve as a Master Teacher. The position begins in Fall 2018. Annual reappointment is possible based on satisfactory performance.
Teach North Texas is an undergraduate secondary science, mathematics and computer science teacher education program at UNT as one of 44 national UTeach replication sites. Experienced secondary teachers collaborate with UNT faculty to train pre-service secondary teachers in the implementation of innovative best practices.
Duties of the Master Teacher include: teaching courses in the professional development sequence for pre-service teachers in science, mathematics or computer science; supervision and coordination of clinical field experiences; orientation and collaboration activities with district partners; and other duties as required.

1. Undergraduate mathematics or science degree AND a masters degree in curriculum and instruction, education/secondary education or equivalent, which must include at least 18 advanced hours in mathematics or science.
2. Undergraduate secondary mathematics or science education degree AND a masters degree in mathematics or science, which must include at least 18 advanced hours in curriculum and instruction, education/secondary education, or equivalent.
Additionally, a valid teaching certificate and at least three (3) years of secondary public school teaching experience in mathematics, computer science or science is required.
Applicants must have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and experience supervising pre-service and/or in-service teachers.
