Department Overview
The UNT Career Center is the centralized career office responsible for the career development and employment of all UNT students and alumni. It has responsibility for all Student Employment, Internships, and post-graduation employment opportunities for UNT students.

Job Description
The Career Center Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Sr Administrative Specialist to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Provide administrative assistance for the Career Center Director and staff.

Office Management:
* Assists the director in the oversight of all fiscal policies/procedures and the maintenance of several university budgets.
* Organizes and coordinates travel, purchasing, personnel, inventory and other university documents and procedures.
* Oversees payroll processes and procedures for the department (includes sick leave, vacation, compensatory time, etc.)
* Ensures the opening of the office.
* Oversees office supplies, equipment, beverages, paper products and other miscellaneous office necessities in plentiful supply.
* Ensures personnel and other files are kept up to date and are accurate.
* Maintains relevant computer skills in order to perform duties and attends computer training as required.

Departmental Budget and Reports:
* Assists Director and Associate Directors with budget planning and preparation, as well as maintaining and tracking budget for all accounts.
* Creates and maintains departmental reports as requested by the Director and/or Assistant Directors.
* Completes special projects as assigned by the Director and/or Associate Directors.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and three years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Exceptional customer service skills.
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
* Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
* Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
* Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
* Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
* Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
* Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
* Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
* Supervisory skills.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
Previous work with:
* Complex and multiple budgetary record keeping and management.
* Personnel records management.
* Office policies and procedures.
* Office and facilities management.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook calendar.
* Complex internal processing systems.
* Working within a complex organization.
