The Department of Economics offers a BA, BS, BBA, and MS in Economics. Our department is composed of eighteen full-time faculty who teach and conduct research.

Job Description
The Economics Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Sr Administrative Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Supports instructional activities: monitors supplies, places textbook orders, grades departmental exams, and makes copies of class handouts.
* Manages ECON Help Centers: assists with hiring process and sets work schedules; manages data gathering of Help Center uses.
* Functions as Schedule of Class coordinator.
* Graduate Student Support: Conducts graduate recruitment activities including some travel; organizes graduate student activities.
* Tracks enrollments and estimates course size.
* Serves as liaison with various UNT departments including Registrar, Graduate School, Classroom Support Services, and ODA.
* Manages social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter) to promote department and university events.
* Plans and manages budgets for instructional supplies, Help Center hourly workers, recruitment travel, and graduate student activities.
* Supervises student employees.

The Sr. Administrative Specialist reports to the department Chair and Administrative Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree and three years of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Exceptional customer service skills.
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
* Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
* Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
* Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
* Ability to conceptualize, plan and organize multiple programs and assignments effectively.
* Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
* Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
* Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
* Supervisory skills.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Experience working with faculty and staff in an academic department.
* Prior experience with UNT processes and procedures, especially EIS.
