Responsibilities: This is a 12-month non-tenure track research position in the School of Natural Resources ( The candidate will be expected to develop an exciting and high-impact, nationally/internationally recognized, research program focused on determining wildlife responses to climate change, land-use, and management at landscape to regional scales. Areas of research priority include application of wildlife population and forest-landscape simulation models to evaluate climate and management scenarios that inform decision-making and conservation planning. The candidate will also be expected to advise graduate students and serve on graduate committees, as well as guest lecture in courses consistent with their areas of expertise. This is a grant-funded position and the incumbent must secure funding for their salary and research expenses.


Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science, or a closely related field, and a minor or M.S. in Statistics. The candidate should be proficient with programing in Program R, Python and SAS; use of Bayesian and frequentist statistical frameworks; landscape simulation models including Linkages and LANDIS PRO, conducting spatial analyses within a GIS, and approaches to decision analysis and structured decision-making. The candidate should have experience working with multidisciplinary teams comprised of university, state and federal agency, and non-government organization members. The candidate should have existing grant funds and reasonable expectations of securing additional grants in the near future to support their work.
