Requisition Title: Assistant Professor- Orthopaedic Oncology Surgery - 1800653

The Department of Surgery, Division of Orthopaedics at Sinai Health System, Toronto, Ontario and the University of Toronto are inviting applications for the position of academic Orthopaedic Oncology Surgeon. This is a full-time faculty appointment.

The effective date of this appointment is tentatively set for August 1, 2019.

We seek a fully licensed surgeon with fellowship training in orthopaedic oncology. The candidate must be comfortable managing patients with bone and soft tissue sarcomas and complex skeletal metastatic disease, as well as provide management of fracture and trauma patients.

The successful candidate will be appointed as either a surgeon-scientist, or surgeon-investigator, and must have either an MSc or PhD with a background in basic or translational science research. Evidence of excellence in teaching is also required. The successful candidate should ideally possess strong leadership skills, professionalism and the ability to work in a team. The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

The Division of Orthopaedic Surgery is comprised of 7 full-time clinical faculty members, with multiple programs, offering clinical care in the areas of lower extremity reconstruction, orthopaedic oncology and sports medicine.

Salary will be based on a fee for service model using the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
