Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

To manage and coordinate all aspects of sponsored research in the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine and to assist in the growth and development of sponsored research in the Department. To demonstrate commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations. In recognition and support of the opportunities for economic development presented through the expansion of research activities, a public institution of higher learning may establish research grant positions funded by medical school practice plans.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor's degree and 3 years business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration experience.

Proven knowledge of grant application procedures, writing IRB protocols, obtaining IRB approval, managing IRB processes and recruiting and consenting participants.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to function independently and exercise discretion. Ability to collaborate with external and internal partners, data entry, data management and reporting of progress to sponsors and publication processes to completely support the day-to-day functions of research, as well as the overall goals of the department. Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to adapt quickly to changing project goals. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
