Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Thomas Cooper Library is accepting applications to support department's late night operations and multiple shifts. These positions will work overnight operations at the Thomas Cooper Library. Routine duties will include checking out books, shelving books, assisting patrons while manning the main service desk, shelving, reading shelves, inventory, conducting security rounds inside the Thomas Cooper Library, and aiding in other duties for the circulation department managerial staff.

Various overnight shifts are available, 15-23 hours per week, Sunday-Thursday from 11:00 pm – 7:30 am.; Friday 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m. Saturday; Saturday 6:00 p.m. – Sunday 10:00 a.m.

A successful background check is required.


Successful applicants must be able to work independently and provide excellent customer service. These positions require exceptional, dependable and reliable candidates. Customer service experience is preferred.
