Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Under limited supervision, provides support to the Facilities Customer Service and Call Center, the initial receiving point for all faculty and staff requests for maintenance, non-maintenance, and projects. Executes specialized work for university signs as required.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

High school diploma and 2 years customer service, administrative support, and data entry experience in a construction or trades related environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with project management and signage software. Working knowledge of Corel and AutoCad.


Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Photoshop (or similar photo editing software). Must be able to type 40+ WPM with four or less errors. Must be able to use a personal computer and provide a high level of customer service in receiving requests and complaints from campus customers. Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to assigning project and/or service work to service crews. Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of computer systems. Knowledge of database software, including project management and signage software. Ability to analyze data and data collection to develop methods to obtain accurate, useful output. Ability to coordinate and schedule work between user groups. Ability to train and assist staff in the use of systems. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to stay calm under pressure. Ability to respond to potentially angry customers while maintaining an appropriate professional demeanor.
