Advertised Job Summary

The Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences (DDBS), University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy ( ) in Columbia, SC invite applications from outstanding junior scientists for a faculty position at the level of tenure-track Assistant Professor, with primary expertise in medicinal chemistry. The candidate will be expected to develop a strong, extramurally funded and nationally and internationally recognized research program in the discovery and development of targeted therapeutics (structure based design and synthesis of small molecule, peptide-based or nucleic acid-based drugs acting against macromolecular targets identified through genomic and/or phenotypic screening). The candidate will also have excellent oral and written communication skills, and participate in graduate and professional education.

Required Education and Experience

Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, post-doctoral training and a significant track record of research accomplishments.

Preferred Qualifications

Therapeutics areas would be expected to complement, but not necessarily be limited to, DDBS research foci in cancer and neuroscience.
