Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The Assistant Director for Campus Programming is responsible for sustaining the development of a vibrant student activities community and facilitating student involvement by providing leadership and advisement for major student programming initiatives on campus. Programmatic areas include Carolina Productions, Carolina After Dark, Spirit Organizations and Dance Marathon. Responsible for contract negotiations, mitigating risk, budget management, and coordinating with various campus and community partners to produce high quality and impactful traditional events and campus programs.
This position will supervise, train and evaluate one Campus Programs Coordinator, graduate assistants and interns. Budget development and responsibility for over $500,000 of student activity funding. This position reports to the Director of Campus Life/Russell House University Union.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 4 years related experience, or bachelor's degree and 6 years related experience.

Evening and weekend work expected as part of a variable work schedule.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be eligible to drive university vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Experience with event planning, contract negotiation, leadership development, budget development and management

•Experience planning, developing, and implementing large-scale and small-scale events
