Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Individual will conduct the day-to-day operations of the Microscopy component of Microscopy and Flow Cytometry Core (MFCC) of CTT at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. Responsibilities include interaction with investigators, conducting training and performing microscopy services provided by the MFCC and participating in research projects in targeted therapeutics.

Required Education and Experience

Ph.D. in microscopy-based research in any area of science. 5 years of experience required.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of microscopic equipment and imaging software; intense attention to detail and compliance to biosafety procedures; the ability to read the scientific literature and develop research protocols; communications and networking skills, as well as experience in scientific manuscript and grant writing. Must demonstrate commitment to conduct business lawfully and ethically by constantly adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
