Advertised Job Summary
The neighborhood relations coordinator will support the off-campus living experience at the University of South Carolina through coordinated outreach, programming and advocacy for students living off campus in neighborhoods.
The primary responsibilities include:
•Market programs, services and education to students living off campus including neighborhood-based community service, community outreach, and community living workshops
•Collaborate with various community and neighborhood groups to enhance student and local resident relations
•Facilitate conversations with local residents and maintain relationships with property managers in the Columbia area
•Assess off campus student needs and field community concerns
•Offer support and solutions and serve as an advocate for students living off campus
•Build relationships with and serve as a point of contact for city staff with primary jurisdiction in the neighborhoods where students reside
Masters degree in Student Services or related field, or bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience.Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to establish working relationships with diverse campus and community constituencies.
