Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

The applicant will provide post-award services for grant accounts in the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy and the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology and Neuroscience at the USC School of Medicine. This will include assisting in initial set-up of accounts, applying charges to accounts and providing principal investigators with periodic grant reports. The individual will work closely with faculty and other administrative staff in the two basic science departments to accomplish these duties.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Master's degree and 1 year related experience in business, public administration or administrative services, or bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience; or equivalency.

Valid SC driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 4 years experience in federal grant management. Experience with People Soft Accounting Systems as purchased and designed by USC. Experience with University policies and procedures. Prefer experience with Microsoft Office and have experience creating complex worksheets in Excel.


Knowledge of office management policies, practices and procedures required. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks required. Ability to deal effectively with the public, faculty, staff, and students in handling inquiries and communicating information. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
