Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Manages cash and treasury functions through ensuring stewardship over the cash assets and liabilities of the university by maximizing investment income, assisting with issuance of debt, optimizing liquidity, managing risks, and streamlining processes associated with cash flows. Provide support and daily management of cash management and banking activities for the university. Manages the endowment funds to ensure maximum use of the funds which maximizing investment income. Assist Capital Finance with the management of debt and the issuance of new debt.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor's degree in accounting, or business administration and 8 years professional accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer Master's Degree and CPA or CGFO. PeopleSoft or other ERP experience. Higher Education experience.


An extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for higher education. Thorough knowledge of state and federal statutes and regulations pertaining to higher education financial management and ability to analyze and interpret. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of university, state, federal and other external personnel.

• Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting and grant accounting.
• Knowledge of higher education and/or state government fiscal accounting processes.
• Knowledge of financial statement analysis.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and reports.
• Ability to plan, organizes, review and supervise the work of subordinates.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working
