Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining a reporting system within an ERP HR/Payroll system that is compliant with federal and state reporting requirements and established University policies and procedures, as it pertains to all international employees, including faculty, staff, and student employees. This includes interpreting and analyzing gross pay, tax implications, and other special issues that arise. Provides guidance to international employees concerning payroll issues.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 3 years professional accounting experience; or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of MicroSoft Office Excel and Word, Access, Database Management, PowerPoint. Experience with Oracles's PeopleSoft HCM platform is preferred. Experience with payroll accounting principles and tax reporting. Understanding of US tax law as it pertains to non-US citizens and understanding of available tax treaties between the United States and multiple countries. Ability to speak multiple languages if preferred.


Employee should be proficient in mathematical concepts with the ability to analyze and interpret related data. Employee must be have the ability to apply procedures in accordance with regulatory guidance, and an ability to update systems when new rules and regulations are introduced. Employee must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Employee must have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Employee must have strong research skills.
