Position Summary: This position is responsible for managing intellectual property agreements as part of the Innovation Gateway contracting team. Innovation Gateway, UGA's commercialization program in the Office of Research, encompasses the University's intellectual property licensing and startup support functions to ensure that research discoveries reach their full potential for public benefit. The successful candidate will play a key role on the contracting team, which handles a high volume of intellectual property agreements including material transfer agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and data use agreements. This position requires a proven ability to prioritize and manage a large number of projects with competing deadlines. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, dependable, detail-oriented self-starter with excellent communications skills who is ready to assume a key role within a very productive team. Legal and/or contract management experience is highly desired.
Responsibilities: Manage intellectual property agreements including: material transfer agreements, confidentiality/non-disclosure agreements, data transfer/data use agreements and review of IP clauses in sponsored research agreements: * Manage all agreement correspondence to ensure timely response to faculty and collaborators * Coordinate all agreement requests and initiation through SOPHIA database * Track agreement process in SOPHIA database * Manage IG contracts email account * Create and update agreement records in Sophia database * Create and maintain required hard copy files for cases/agreements
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 0-1 years experience.
