The Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant professor position in Instructional Systems Design. The appointment is a nine-month appointment, effective August 16, 2018. The department is looking for candidates who can strengthen the core competencies in instructional design and curriculum theory and have expertise in the areas of emerging technologies, such as online e-learning/MOOCs, performance improvement, digital gaming, augmented reality, or other related areas.

Responsibilities include the following: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including service courses for elementary, middle level, and secondary education teaching candidates; contribute to research on online elearning/MOOCs, performance improvement, digital gaming, augmented reality in school and/or industrial applications; and seek opportunities to fulfill the university's land grant mission through service to schools and the community.

Required qualifications include an earned doctoral degree in instructional systems design, instructional technology, learning technologies, or closely related discipline by the time of hire. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a strong research direction with particular interest in experience with quantitative methods and the ability to teach graduate level courses that push students academically and technically. Successful candidates will be strong collaborators and have the ability to contribute to the university's land grant mission and strategic engagement with multiple diverse constituents.
