Assistant or Associate Professor in Creative Writing-Fiction

Job description

The Department of English at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor in Creative Writing-Fiction to begin Fall 2018. Evidence of secondary genre is welcome. At least one novel or collection of short stories published by a national press and evidence of excellent teaching is required. Applicants must have a MFA or Ph.D. in Creative Writing.

The teaching load is two courses per semester. The successful candidate will teach at the graduate and undergraduate level, mentor MFA students, serve on MFA thesis committees, and contribute service to the department and MFA program.

Applicants must submit the following: 1) cover letter, 2) CV, 3) writing sample of 20-25 pages, and 4) teaching statement (upload under Specific Request 1). Also provide the names and contact information for three references when prompted in the academic profile. This information may be utilized to solicit recommendation letters from your references within the employment system.
