Postdoctoral Fellow, Middle East & South Asia Studies
The Middle East and South Asia Studies (MESA) Program of Wake Forest University invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship starting fall 2018. MESA, a multidisciplinary program, provides students the opportunity to approach the history, politics, literature, languages, anthropology, art, and religious traditions of the peoples and cultures of the Middle East and South Asia. Twenty-six affiliated faculty members from eleven disciplines are connected to the Program. We offer minors in Middle East and South Asian Studies as well as Arabic. The MESA postdoctoral fellow is expected to teach two courses in the fall semester (2018) and two courses in the spring semester (2019). The fellow will be required to teach Elementary Hindi/Urdu I during the fall semester and Elementary Hindi/Urdu II during the spring semester. As well, the postdoctoral fellow will teach one course of their choosing (relevant to the fellow’s academic discipline and interests) each semester. Candidates must be formally trained in Hindi/Urdu language instruction and possess a PhD in a relevant field no later than August 15, 2018.
Pay is competitive with comparable national universities and colleges.
