The FSU College of Medicine (COM) aims to provide community-based medical education that emphasizes the biopsychosocial model, primary care, and care for underserved populations. The COM is located on the campus of Florida State University and strives for a collaborative culture across departments and University-Wide. COM faculty are distributed in other sectors of the university, and across six regional COM campuses in Tallahassee, Sarasota, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Ft. Pierce, and Pensacola, FL. A clinical research network is currently being developed in association with the regional campuses involving training relationships with approximately 1,800 community physician-clinical faculty members who practice throughout the state of Florida. In addition to excellent facilities, the COM also has a state-of-the-art translational science laboratory. Additional information about the College of Medicine may be found at www.med.fsu.edu. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary faculty with expertise and interest in psychology, behavioral health, public health, epidemiology, bioethics, philosophy, history, and medical Spanish, who engage in research and teaching of medical students and residents as well as undergraduate and graduate students.
Responsibilities
Faculty would be expected to conduct translational research at any point of the translational spectrum, from early phase trials translating basic behavioral and social science to new interventions to later stage effectiveness and implementation trials.
Faculty will contribute to a team science approach to develop, test, and implement biobehavioral interventions to improve health. Possible themes include stress and executive functioning, health informatics, eHealth interventions, and implementation of evidence-based interventions in underserved populations.
Qualifications
The Florida State University Center for Translational Behavioral Research and the College of Medicine, Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine seeks candidates for three full time, tenure-track assistant to associate professor level (9 months) positions. Must have either a PhD or comparable degree in the Social or Behavioral Sciences or Public Health, or an MD/DO with research training.

This advertisement is for multiple positions. One position is expected to be filled for the 2017-2018 academic year, and two are expected to be filled for the 2018 - 2019 academic year.
