Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be expected to develop a significant research program prior to tenure, be an excellent teacher (teaching two courses per semester at the graduate and undergraduate level), and contribute to the service needs of the department. Areas of specialization: ethics broadly construed to include areas such as history of ethics, metaethics, moral psychology, social and political philosophy, applied ethics. Areas of competence: open, but the department has teaching needs at the graduate level in ethical theory, metaethics, and the history of philosophy.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a PhD in philosophy, or a closely related area, in hand by July 1, 2018.
