The successful applicant will be expected to be an excellent teacher, and may be asked to contribute to the service needs of the department. This is a permanent twelve month non-tenure track teaching position with a load of seven to ten courses for the academic year (semester system, including the summer), depending on other duties. The successful applicant will teach a selection of undergraduate courses, such as introduction to philosophy, introductory and applied ethics, reasoning and critical thinking, and various courses in the history of philosophy and political philosophy. Some graduate teaching is also a possibility.


Applicants must have a PhD in philosophy, or a closely related area, in hand by July 1, 2018.

This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position (non-tenure track but eligible for the specialized faculty promotion process in accordance with the Bylaws of the Department of Philosophy).
