The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Florida State University (FSU) - Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Engineering invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the area of Controls (a higher level position could be considered for exceptional candidates). We are interested in candidates who have active research in the broadly-defined area of Controls with an emphasis on, but not restricted to, power and energy systems, robotics, unmanned systems, manufacturing, aerodynamic systems or traffic control.
The successful candidate will have a primary appointment in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), although joint appointments are available within other departments. More than one appointment could be made. The faculty member will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to build and lead a team of graduate students in Ph.D. research. Excellent opportunities exist for collaboration with various centers of excellence including: the Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS), the Florida Center for Advanced Aero-Propulsion (FCAAP), the Center for Intelligent Systems, Controls and Robotics (CISCOR), and the Center for Accessibility and Safety for an Aging Population (ASAP).


Applicants should have an earned Ph.D., evidence of the ability to pursue an independent program of research, a strong commitment to both graduate and undergraduate teaching, and the ability to initiate and conduct research across disciplines.
