Coordinate Florida State University Allies & Safe Zone Training program. Includes presenting Allies & Safe Zones workshops, developing new content for ongoing learning, ongoing program assessment, and serving as a resource across campus. Organize participants' levels of involvement, research effective training and information strategies, collaborate with students and departments, and provide support and direction for inclusion across campus. Manage website and listserv components, develop regular communication and maintain advertising and assessment of workshop activities. Coordinate the facilitation team through training, session assignment, and ongoing partnerships.
Advise the Pride Student Union including meeting with leaders, attending events, and assisting in developing and achieving goals. Interpret, apply, and ensure compliance with Student Body Statues, the Florida Administrative Code, State of Florida Statues and Laws, and the rules and regulations of the Florida State University. Attend meetings and programs and support initiatives.
Serve on University-Wide Committees, particularly regarding large-scale SGA programs such as Awareness months, Healthy Campus initiatives, Hazing Prevention, Green Dot, and collaborative programs. Plan, attend, assess, and coordinate events as a committee member. Collaborate with outside departments, establishing and maintaining strong working relationships and providing understanding for the department.
Serve on the advising and professional staff team for the Student Government Association. Attend and support SGA events, establish connections with students, have overall knowledge of SGA and Florida State University. Advise additional student organizations and SGA entities as assigned. Participate in departmental initiatives and practices, including staff training, graduate intern supervision, and student employment management. All other duties as assigned. Oversee and implement programs in the areas of leadership development, ally development, identity development, multicultural competence, fiscal responsibility, and event management.
A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a high diploma/equivalency and six years of experience related to the duties of this position. (Note a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Experience advising and supporting diverse college student organizations.
Experience presenting content to small groups.
Knowledge of student development and identity development, and allyship models.
Master’s degree in Higher Education Student Affairs or related field and experience working with student organizations, Identity based groups, and on a college campus.
Knowledge and understanding of the basic levels of ACPA/NASPA core competencies.
