Responsibilities

The Grants Manager works within Sponsored Research Administration (SRA), which provides administration and oversight for federal and state contracts and grants for the University. The position is responsible for the compliance training program and providing leadership to the Quality Assurance team for Pre-Award and Post-Award, ensuring the data integrity of contract and grant information within the ERP system and the integrated business systems.Coordinate with faculty, departmental staff, and SRA staff to develop and administer a comprehensive SRA compliance training program, including specific training curricula for SRA Post-Award and data analyst staff.
Provide training to new and existing staff as needed. Facilitate and lead departmental staff training program as it relates to compliance and financial activities, including the SRA Certificate Series. Supervise data analyst staff, including communication, training, motivation, evaluating, planning and directing their workload, and ensuring adequate coverage during absences. Assist in resolving ERP system issues and manage sponsored research cases involving the OMNI Grants and Financials modules, including accounting system issues and proposal data entry. Ensure the integrity of contract and grant data elements within the OMNI modules for Grants and Financials.
Develop and work with SRA management to document procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the sponsored research information system and other related activities. Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of system upgrades and enhancements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, University policies and procedures, and SRA business processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management, or related field and two years of managerial experience. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
Knowledge of federal, state, and private sources for contract and grant funds.
Knowledge of contract administration.
Knowledge of accounting systems and practices.
Knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent software.

Preferred

Experience working with contracts and grants.
Experience with Microsoft Access.
Experience using PeopleSoft/Oracle.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles and practices.

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Soft Money Funded Position

This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.

Schedule

If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.

Criminal Background Check
