Position Summary

Academic Professional Track (APT) Assistant Professor, Audiology, in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), School of Health and Human Sciences (HHS). Twelve-month appointment beginning August 1, 2018.

Twelve-month APT Audiology Assistant Professor appointment. Clinical supervision of fourth-year Au.D. student externships and UNCG Ph.D. students in Audiology working in the UNCG Speech and Hearing Center. Online and/or face-to-face teaching of undergraduate CSD courses possible.

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders with 15 faculty members is one of 8 departments and 2 programs in the School of Health and Human Sciences. The Department is nationally ranked among US News & World Report's Best Graduate Programs and offers B.S., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Speech-Language Pathology. The UNCG Speech and Hearing Center is operated within the Department. The Center, in operation since 1967, provides a comprehensive service program for diagnosis and therapy in language, speech and hearing for adults, adolescents and young children. The Center is a modern, handicapped accessible facility on the UNCG campus. The Center has eight therapy rooms and observation suites, and two diagnostic suites for hearing evaluations and hearing aid fittings.


Minimum Qualifications

The department requires the candidate to have:
Au.D. or Ph.D. in Audiology and CCC-A required. Eligible for North Carolina license with clinical experience in the evaluation and management of hearing loss including hearing aid fittings, as well as auditory processing disorders.

Preferred Qualifications

The department requires the candidate to have a minimum of an Au.D. or Ph.D. in Audiology and CCC-A required. Eligible for North Carolina license with clinical experience in the evaluation and management of hearing loss, including hearing aid fittings as well as auditory processing disorders. Previous experience with clinical supervision and university teaching preferred.
