Position Summary
The purpose of the Director of Real Property position is to have responsibility for the Property Acquisition and Leasing Department. This position initiates and coordinates a large volume of diverse and wide-ranging real property transactions for the University, The UNCG Capital Facilities Foundation and other University affiliated entities. These transactions include acquisitions and dispositions of real property by lease, gift, purchase, exchange, sale and easement or user agreement. This position is responsible for the leasing of off-campus properties to meet departmental space needs that cannot be met in existing campus space, preparing specifications for space needs, securing necessary approvals and performing all related tasks associated with the occupancy of off-campus space. Also, this position is responsible for the management of all aspects of Campus Enterprises & Foundation-owned properties including administering of design and renovations, facilities management, and tenant relations. This position must have a thorough understanding of the University's Strategic Plan, the University's Campus Master Plan, and the UNCG Millennial Campus Initiative with respect to real property development and campus expansion. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the real property goals of the University and facility project needs for Campus Enterprises, and other appropriate functions as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Real Estate, completion of Real Estate Sales and Broker's coursework, and at least five years of relevant experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Business or Public Administration preferred.
• Advanced professional work in the management, acquisition, and disposition of real property.
• Work professionally and with a high degree of confidentiality to further the mission of the University with respect to campus expansion and property development.
• Experience in the management of property including knowledge of renovation, upfit, scheduling, and estimating.
