Position Summary

The Bryan School of Business and Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking qualified applications for a tenure stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (with tenure) in the Department of Accounting and Finance beginning August 2018. The University emphasizes high quality in research and teaching, and teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Service to the University and to the academic and/or practicing professions is also expected.

The Department of Accounting and Finance consists of 15 full-time faculty members and offers B.S. degrees in both Accounting and Finance and an M.S. in Accounting. Finance faculty actively publish in journals including JF, JFE, JFQA, AER and QJE. The Bryan School of Business & Economics provides excellent support for faculty research including subscriptions to CRSP, COMPUSTAT, and the WRDS platform, reduced teaching load, summer support, travel support for presentations at top national conferences, and rewards for publications in journals on the Financial Times 50 list. In 2016, Bryan faculty members averaged 2.21 peer reviewed journal articles, published eight books, and occupied 63 editorial positions with journals (editor, associate editor, guest editor, or editorial board member). The Bryan School has over 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students and more than 100 full- and part-time faculty members housed in six departments, and is accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB. Our evening MBA was ranked 13th nationally in academic quality by Bloomberg BusinessWeek (2013-2015), and 4th across all dimensions among public universities (2013-2015). Minimum Qualifications

The Department seeks candidates with a Ph.D. (or short-term ABD status) in Finance or a related field. Candidates should possess evidence of teaching and demonstrate the potential for publishing in high quality refereed academic journals. The department will consider applicants in all areas of finance.
