Position Summary

Primary Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Frontier Set Initiatives:

Serve as Frontier Set Site Team Coordinator. Maintain detailed knowledge of grant requirements as well as Frontier Set Member Commitment and take primary responsibility for meeting those. Serving as the main liaison between program faculty, staff, and Frontier Set program participants. Develop and coordinate a core internal team of campus partners. Lead campus outreach to get institutional buy in, and collaborate campus wide to create university programs supporting underserved student populations. Work collaboratively with program stakeholders on campus to ensure program deliverables are being met. Seek opportunities for new initiatives while continuing support for current initiatives. Manage the overall logistics of Frontier Set. Work closely with Senior Director of Student Success Initiatives on budget expenditures for Spartan StartUp. Manage and coordinate all operations related to the Frontier Set Initiative and program components. Organize retention outreach to students. Advertise recruit and market the Frontier Set program. Organize all program communications. Develop presentation proposals for national/regional conferences to showcase Frontier Set work annually and as needed. Primary responsibility for writing applications for additional grants. Work closely with the staff on the UNCG CHANCE program.

Develop and coordinate curriculum, program activities for Spartan StartUp group of at least 40 students. Develop and implement innovative program components for summer, fall and spring (summer and academic year)- to track success throughout the entire first year. Develop and implement appropriate assessment mechanisms for bridge program. Supervise, hire, and train Frontier Set peer mentors as part of the bridge program. Organize all marketing and program communications for the bridge program. Conduct opening celebrations and closing ceremony for bridge program; and field trips for program participants. Collaborate with English, Biology, and FFL 100 faculty to secure courses. Coordinate closely with Advising units to determine advising for cohort.

Development and implement appropriate assessment mechanisms for Frontier Set Initiative. Assist in tracking the collection of data and assessment reports for enrollment, retention, completion, attendance, and pre-post tests. Manage data collection, tracking, and measurements on initiatives for analysis. Research best practices as well as benchmarking what other universities in the Frontier Set are doing.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

15% - Management of the Spartan StartUp summer bridge program.
70% - Management of Frontier Set Initiative programs and project/grant maintenance.
15% - Develop and implement assessment mechanisms for the Frontier Set Initiative.

This position will maintain detailed knowledge of grant requirements as well as Frontier Set Member Commitment and take primary responsibility for meeting those. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required (Master's Degree preferred). Two years of relevant progressive experience required. Demonstrated excellent writing skills (Grant writing preferred).
