Position Summary

The UNCG Infrastructure Operations group is currently seeking qualified candidates to consider for an exciting and challenging career in Information Technology at the University. UNC Greensboro's Information Technology Services division plans, designs, implements and supports stable and secure IT systems, voice and data network infrastructure. We support more than 20,000 students, faculty and staff by administering the campus enterprise server infrastructure, local and wide area network infrastructure, voice services infrastructure, service operations center and service desk. All of the core technology services offered by the University rely on the successful design, development, implementation, growth, maintenance and monitoring of the campus systems and networks infrastructure.The primary function of IT Infrastructure Operations is to collect real-time data, perform analysis, and provide major incident response for the systems and facilities supporting critical enterprise-level applications. Infrastructure facilities include two on-campus data centers, multiple campus network distribution facilities, and many building network distribution facilities throughout campus and in several remote locations. This position will present an excellent opportunity for a contributing level IT professional to move into the enterprise level of a mid-sized (and expanding) IT organization. The position will involve a range of skill sets, including components of web development, system administration, application configuration, and client service.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science Engineering or a closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or a Bachelor's Degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one (1) year of experience in Operations/Systems work or closely related area; or an Associate's Degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Engineering Technology or Networking Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of experience in Operations/Systems work or closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Journey level requires an additional one year of education or experience.
