IHP Instructor/Assistant Professor, Physician Assistant Studies (FACULTY)
MGH Institute of Health Professions, founded by Massachusetts General Hospital, is an innovative and independent graduate school in Boston that is a member of Partners HealthCare. The Institute's Department of Physician Assistant Studies offers a progressive 25-month generalist PA program located in the city's historic Charlestown Navy Yard. The program has received Accreditation-Provisional from the ARC-PA and is scheduled for a final provisional accreditation visit (the last step before transitioning to continuing accreditation) in December of 2018.
The MGH Institute of Health Professions seeks an experienced educator to join our dynamic team of faculty and staff in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies. Faculty are responsible for curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation in both didactic and clinical components of the program, student advising, developing collaborative opportunities with community partners, and contributing to interprofessional education within the Institute. Faculty play a prominent role in the program's ongoing self-study process. This position includes an expectation of serving on Institute committees and participating in scholarly activities. Research and/or clinical interests may vary and will be supported with protected time. The program's integrated curriculum, which is primarily delivered using Team-based Learning, is designed to focus on the learner and allow faculty the opportunity to mentor students into thoughtful and highly skilled PAs.
Qualified educators with experience in public health, pharmacology, graduate-level basic science, psychology, nursing, or health care research (bench and/or public policy) are encouraged to apply. Candidates must hold a master's degree at a minimum (doctorate preferred) and certification with eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts, as appropriate to their field. Clinicians should have at least 5 years of clinical experience. The applicant should have experience in graduate-level teaching as well as curriculum development and assessment.
