Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator for Events is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of a comprehensive, campus wide activities program. This includes student-led programs sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, as well as staff and faculty sponsored programs. The Program Coordinator will assist with emergency support requests for the HelpLink program.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Serve as primary advisor to the Campus Activities Board. Oversee planning, production, and publicizing of comprehensive activities calendar, including social, intellectual, and cultural events for the campus community.

Collaborate with faculty to coordinate campus wide events, and serve on planning committees for Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Women's History Month, etc. Assist committees with contracts, marketing, budgets and scheduling.

Plan and facilitate special events for students, such as lectures, multicultural events, movies, etc. These programs may be done in collaboration with students, faculty, and staff.

Manage various social media accounts for the department.

Attend and monitor student sponsored events. Must be available on nights and weekends as needed.

Meet with students requesting assistance through HelpLink. Evaluate students' needs and administer aid as appropriate.

Serve as division liaison for student related community partnerships.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in related discipline.

A minimum of three (3) years experience in managing college activities and advising student groups. Experience includes internships and graduate assistantships.

Ability to work well and interact effectively and plan programs with diverse populations, including traditional and non-traditional students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Demonstrated understanding and commitment of the value of student engagement in the life of a comprehensive community college.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using Engage student organization management program.

Experience in marketing using social media and Adobe Creative Suite.

Hours per Week: 40

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 4:30
