Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applicants for an Assistant Registrar position in the Registrar’s Office.  The individual will perform under the direction of the Senior Associate Registrar; the Assistant Registrar will assist the Senior Associate Registrar and Registrar as necessary with all Registrar's Office related functions. Will be directly responsible for the graduation processes of undergraduate evening and graduate students and grade collection for all students.  Processes undergraduate evening and graduate student applications for graduation, reviews degree audits to determine student eligibility for completion of degree requirements, updates Banner to reflect current graduation information for three yearly graduation periods. Assists the Graduate College with annual graduation ceremony. Maintains communication with the Graduate College, faculty program directors, and other student service offices during the processes.  Will be responsible for collecting and processing grades and grade changes for all students during the mid-term and final grading periods; as well as executes/edits reports and system jobs to determine outstanding grades and communicates with Deans and/or Department Heads as appropriate.

Responsible for the Event Management System (EMS Campus) for academic course scheduling to include reconciliation, optimization, and publication of the course term file. Executes edit reports to verify the accuracy of processes performed. Will also be responsible, on a term basis, for maintaining and updating the Dean's List/Gold Stars List; as well as submit updated information to Public Affairs, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, and Office of the Commandant.


Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree required and three (3) years’ experience in Student Services/Student Affairs in higher education. Must possess knowledge of registration and graduation procedures and an understanding of computer principles and procedures. Must have skill in handling multiple tasks within stringent time lines, and skill in working with diverse personalities in faculty, staff, and student population. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. The individual in this position must possess good managerial and interpersonal skills, the ability to exercise professional judgment, and a cooperative attitude within the working environment. May experience occasional duty periods outside of normal working hours.


Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience with Banner Student software and Cognos report writing is highly desirable.
