Lynn is currently accepting applications for the Registered Nurse position. The Registered Nurse is to provide high quality nursing care to the students, faculty, staff, and visitors as needed, according to the Florida Nurse Practice Act, Standards of Care of the American College Health Association, and the Lynn University Health Center Policy and Procedure Manual. Health promotion and education and disease prevention are provided to help students stay healthy, recover from illness and injury, learn healthy lifestyle behaviors and have a healthful and successful experience during their college education. This position will support all initiatives, services, and efforts offered by the Health Center. Efforts will support the mission of the University and the goals of the Division of Student Affairs. This individual will work closely with students, parents, and all stakeholders to foster a positive healthy community.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provides primary health care services to the University community including but not limited to: physical assessments, triage assessments, phlebotomy and specimen collection, wound care, suture/staple removal, nebulizer treatments, peak flow measurements, allergy injections, immunizations, anaphylaxis interventions. Distributes medication according to unit based policies. Follows internal RN protocols and monitors treatment plans given to patient. Collaborates with professional staff on a daily basis. Provides first aid to the University community and responds to all medical emergencies on campus. Responsible for keeping daily activity log up to date and accurate as well as maintaining patient records (paper and electronic). Counsel's patients for health promotion activities, disease prevention and travel related needs. Focus on education is on wellness, behavioral modification and risk reduction. Coordinate Physical Therapy or rehabilitation for those chronic or post-surgical patients as well as coordinate treatment and transport of injured/ill patients. Monitors, maintains and orders all medical and pharmacy supply inventory. Chief liaison for safe storage and disposal of Bio Hazardous Medical Waste. Oversees laboratory operation. Assists with activities related to maintaining quality assurance/quality improvement program. Assists the Director and the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) with patient care and reporting. Attend office meetings, divisional meetings, and other meetings as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications


The Health Center seeks a high energy, patient centered nurse, who is ambitious, innovative, forward thinking, and works well on a team. The Registered Nurse is a professional staff member at the University. As such, this individual will maintain a high level of professionalism including, but not limited to behavior, attire, and representation of self and the University at all times. For consideration, this individual must minimally possess:


  • An earned bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution. Current State of Florida Board of Nursing license, CPR and AED certifications. Prior experience working on a college campus preferred. Proficiency with clinical skills typical to an urgent care environment including, but not limited to, phlebotomy, wound care, IV insertion, monitoring, EKG, ear lavage, IV push meds, injections, wound care, splinting, and crutch training, etc. Ability to interpret and apply current health care and nursing trends. Demonstrated excellence in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
